Information

The Satellite Meeting will take place from 1st (Friday) to 3rd July (Sunday) 2016 following the ICAR 2016 conference in the amphitheatre of the Universite Francois-Rabelais, Faculty of Science and Technology at the Parc de Grandmont campus. The faculty can be reached easily by a 10 minutes bus ride from the city centre. The city bus, Line 2 should be taken into the direction CHU Trousseau. The bus stops are conveniently located in front of the Vinci Congress Centre and also in front of the faculty and the bus leaves frequently every 6 to 10 minutes. The location of the Faculty of Science and Technology is indicated on the google map.

The official language of the meeting is English and no translation is provided. The scientific programme includes original and review presentations on all aspects of reproduction, genetics and production in New and Old World Camelids. The quality of the program is assured by an extensive Scientific and Review Committee representing different geographical areas and fields of expertise.

On the first day of the conference, 1st July 2016, Friday evening we will have a Cocktail party at the Eugénie Salon of the Hotel Oceania L’Univers starting from 19 00. The hotel is located right in the centre of Tours (5 bd Heurteloup) walking distance from Vinci Congress Centre and the main Railway Station. Please, note that attendance to the Cocktail party requires registration and addition fee applies.

On 3rd of July, Sunday we organize a full day excursion, a field trip to visit an alpaca breeding farm (Argenton Alpacas; www.argentonalpacas.eu) in Le Breuil sous Argenton, followed by a typical 3 course French lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue to Saumur to visit the Chateau de Saumur (http://www.chateau-saumur.fr) and horse exhibition. On the way back to Tours, if time permits we are planning to enjoy the view of the Chateau and Garden de Villandry, (http://loire-chateaux.co.uk/en-gb/chateaux/villandry/chateau-and-gardens-villandry).

The attendance on the excursion is included into the registration fee, but, please, indicate in the registration form if you wish to attend to be able to arrange the transportation.

Bus leaves from the Vinci Congress Centre (where ICAR is held) at 8.30 am sharp and returns between 6 to 7 pm.
